Anna Faux claimed a hat-­trick as City of Peterborough Ladies enjoyed a superb 3­-1 win over Norwich City in East Division One North at Bretton Gate on Saturday (November 21).

City remain fourth in the standings as they stretched their unbeaten run to seven matches, but they are now within one point of the top as they chase a second successive promotion. City are now level on points with Norwich

who started the day in second place.

Faux opened the scoring after a quick break out of defence, but the visitors equalised to make it 1­-1 at half­time.

There was some high quality hockey from both teams in the second half, but Faux fired her side back in front after a strong run from Robyn Gribble.

A powerful drive into the ‘D’ from teenager Tierney Augustine enabled Faux to bag her third late on to seal an impressive three points.

Struggling Spalding won for the first time in Division One this season, They beat Bedford seconds 3­2. City of Peterborough travel to Bedford next Saturday (November 28).
