City of Peterborough warmed up for a trip to East Division One North leaders Saffron Walden with a dominant home performance against Blueharts on Saturday (October 31).

City won 3-2, but the final scoreline didn’t reflect a superb display, one that has moved them up to fifth place, five points adrift of Walden who host the city side next Saturday (November 6).

Robyn Gribble opened the scoring for City before Tierney Augustine maintained her record of scoring in every league game with a fine finish for 2-0.

Blueharts pulled a goal back before half-time, but Jen Duffy restored the two-goal advantage soon after the re-start. Blueharts then claimed a late consolation goal.

City’s player of the match was Lisa Deacon who delivered a fine defensive display.

Walden warmed up for the big game with a 4-1 win at Spalding.
