City of Peterborough Ladies were involved in a thrilling 5-5 draw at East Division One North leaders Saffron Walden on Saturday (November 7).

And it could have been even better for the city side as the table-toppers required two goals in the last 10 minutes - from a short corner and then a penalty stroke - before rescuing a point.

Katy Lee opened the scooring in the opening minute for City before the hosts equalised. Tierney Augustine scored twice in the first-half to maintain her record of scoring in all eight league matches, but each time Saffron Walden fought back to equalise to make it 3-3 at the break.

But City forged two goals clear through Robyn Gribble and Lauren Finding to take a grip on the game - a grip that was only broken in the final 10 minutes.

Gribble was awarded player-of-the-match for City for her strong running.

City are fifth in the table, five points behind the leaders.

Spalding, who travel to Bretton Gate to play City next Saturday (November 14), are still without a win after losing 5-2 at home to Norwich City.

The scheduled Wisbech fixture at Royston was postponed.
