Skipper Lauren Finding struck late from a short corner to give City of Peterborough a 3-2 win at Royston in East Division One North on Saturday (October 10).
City are nicely in mid-table after winning two and drawing two of their first four matches, a very satisfactory start after losing key players following their promotion last season.
Royston opened the scoring early in the first half. but City, after a hard working training session during the week, kept their composure and equalised through Robyn Gribble.
At the start of the second half City’s keeper, Beckie Warr, showed her player-of-the-match credentials and made some excellent saves, before Tierney Augustine gave City a 2-1 lead. Teenager Augustine has scored in all four league games for City this season.
Royston then equalised against the run of play before Finding struck.
