City of Peterborough look like they will be relying on home form to keep them out of trouble in the East Premier A Division.

City have picked up four points and scored 10 goals in two games at Bretton Gate so far this season. They’ve lost both of their away games without scoring a goal.

City followed a 7-0 home win over Chelmsford two weeks ago with a hugely disappointing 2-0 loss at Hevring last weekend, a result that leaves them in the bottom half of the table.

They will be relieved to be facing Cambridge University at Bretton Gate this Saturday (1pm pushback).

City manager Graham Finding said: “Havering are a team we could, and should, beat, but we failed to convert any of our nine short corners and failed to score when we were dominant before the break.

“It was a hugely disappointing result and we need to bounce back straight away.

“The University always start slowly, but they won their first game last weekend so it looks like they will have settled into their stride now.

“They are always fast, fit and well-drilled.”

City of Peterborough seconds are going well in the Premier B Division. They beat Cambridge University seconds 3-1 to make it three wins in four games. Julian Catto, Manish Patel and Will Astbury scored the goals.

Newly-promoted Spalding head this division with four wins out of four. Stuart Cunnington scored both their goals in a 2-1 win over Wisbech. Sam Blunt scored the Wisbech goal.

Matthew Carson struck a hat-trick for City thirds as they won 8-4 at bottom club Chelmsford seconds in Division One.

City of Peterborough Ladies secured an excellent 3-2 win at Royston in East Division One North thanks to a late winner from skipper Lauren Finding. Teenager Tierney Augustine maintained her goal-a-game record while Robyn Gribble was also on target.

City host Lincoln this Saturday (2.30pm).
