City of Peterborough Ladies are two wins from promotion from East Division Two North West following their 5-2 win at bottom club Ely on Saturday (February 14).

City led 5-0 at half-time through Tierney Augustine (2), Lauren Finding, Nicole Duffin, and Claire Steels, but took their foot off the gas after the break and conceded two late goals.

A defeat for third-placed Long Sutton at Alford means six points from their final six games will almost certainly see City promoted, probably alongside current leaders Spalding. City’s goal difference is vastly superior to third-placed Sutton.

City should collect three of those points when hosting St Neots at Bretton Gate this Saturday (February 21).

City seconds beat Wisbech seconds 4-1 in the same division with with the Faux sisters Anna (3) and Emma scoring all the goals.
