Peterborough bounced back from their defeat by East Region League leaders Cranfield to defeat ipswich 38-23 in their latest game.
There was little to choose between the two early on as the lead changed hands several times.
But as the game progressed, the city side started passing the ball around the court more to create space in the centre and allow Polish pair Lucasz Kuczmarski (pivot) and Tomek Kowal (centre) to score four times each in quick succession.
And as the goals started to go in at one end, Peterborough’s solid defence started to snuff out Ipswich’s attacking threat with goalkeepers Pawel Jaskolski and Janis Abolins coming to the fore.
At half-time Peterborough led 17-13 and then the outcome of the match was decided in the first 10 minutes of the second half.
With Ipswich staying narrow in defence, Peterborough’s wingers came into the game, scoring six and stretching the lead to 15.
And with the damage done, Peterborough made sure they matched Ipswich’s scoring rate for the rest of the game, always keeping their opponents out of touch.
Kuczmarski finished as top scorer with 10 and Kowal scored eight goals.
