Peterborough Milton's thriving junior set-up have turned in some fantastic results over the last couple of weeks.

In the Northants County Junior Championships at Overstone, Jade Roberts won the Under 14 prize for girls and Jacob Williams clinched the Under 14 boys prize.

Hamish Leeds just missed out on the Under 18 prizes after shooting a stunning net 65 in the afternoon. Sam Ludlow had the second best morning net score of 71.

In the team event, Milton’s A team of Ludlow, Roberts, Charlie Armitage and Michael Wood finished runners-up.

In the Royal British Legion National Knockout the A team of Ludlow, Sam Balaam, Wood and Armitage beat Northampton and now face Beedles Lakes away on Sunday (July 3).

The two in-form players came up trumps in the club’s ‘Junior Majors’ with Armitage winning the Eric Robinson Trophy and Roberts scoring a great 43 points, including 26 on the front nine, to win the Red Robin Trophy. Jade’s handicap has now come down remarkably from 45 to 15.

Results: Eric Robinson Trophy: 1 Charlie Armitage, 2 Ben Baker, 3 Sam Ludlow. Red Robin Trophy: 1 Jade Roberts, 2 Emily Horsted, 3 Jacob Williams.

It’s been a fantastic month for Roberts.

She made a winning debut for the county girls scratch team against Warwickshire and also won through to the national final of the American Golf longest drive competition (Ladies) after winning the Peterborough Store competition and then the regional final with a 229-yard drive.

The final will be played on August 19 in Cheshire and will be shown on Sky sports.
