GOLF: Hot Cole is Northants senior champion

Peterborough Milton enjoyed a great deala of success at the Northants Senior Championship at Collingtree Park.
A total of £1,617 was raised for the charity CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably) when Gedney Hill Golf Club held their joint Captains Day. Star of the show was Richard Cole, who produced a magnificent three-under-par back nine to take the individual honours with a round of 74.

Cole, who plays off scratch, finished three shots clear of Alistair Heslop (Whittlebury Park) with another Milton man, Ian Kerr, third on 79.

Milton cleaned up in the team stakes.

They won the best gross team event thanks to the efforts of Cole, Kerr and Ted Dunn (84) and the same trio also had the best net team score of 232 made up by Cole’s 74, Kerr’s 77 and Dunn’s 81.

MILTON LADIES

A most enjoyable day was had by all ladies who participated in the annual Lady Captain’s Day event at Peterborough Milton.

Over £400 was raised on the day for the Sue Ryder Hospice.

The winner of the Captain’s Prize was Karen Trevor with 37 points and she was also the winner of the Red Division plus the Bird Salver.
