GOLF: Gedney Hill and Nene Park in national finals

A team from Gedney Hill comprising Colin Rust, Jacqui Rust, Jim Starbuck and Lynn Exley came third with 80 points in the regional round of the England Golf Team Championship held at Lingdale Golf Club, Leicestershire.

That qualified them entry to the Grand Final to be held at Frilford Heath Golf Club, Oxfordshire on Monday 8 August 2016.

A Nene Park junior team of Lucas Bicker, Dan Clark and Kallon Rawlins won the 2015 CAGU Junior Champion Club Tournament with a score of 77 points and Clark also came second with 44 points in the individual competition.

As a result, the team will be off to Frilford Heath later in the year to play in the national finals.

It was the first time Nene Park had entered a junior competition.
