Gale force helps Crowland to win

UNDER 8CROWLAND have unleashed a new gale-force goalscoring phenomenen onto the local football scene.
Twin terrors Jack and Ben Gale have been tearing Blue Zone defences to shreds during their debut Junior Alliance season – and on Saturday their opponents Glinton were blown over by the brilliant siblings' best display yet.
Jack finished with four goals and Ben claimed the other three as Crowland collected a 7-1 success on a milestone morning.
It was the team's biggest victory to date and the first time the devastating duo have both netted hat-tricks or better in competitive football.
Hinch said: "The twins are both excellent little players – both left-footed and both with a real eye for goal.
"Jack is the centre-forward in the team, while Ben plays in midfield and they could both go a long way in the game."
The twins have been responsible for all 15 goals scored by Hinch's side so far, with Jack leading the way 8-7.
But while those two talents grab the headlines, Hinch has also hailed his other two outfield players – Dominic Catanese and Reece Crane.
The manager added: "Jack and Ben do all the scoring, but the other two boys are winning the tackles and unlocking the defences for them.
"All the other managers at the club keep telling me what a quality little team we have and I am very lucky."
THERE is a new name at the top of the Red Zone – that of Deeping Blues.
Nigel Smith's young charges zoomed to the summit of this section after avoiding a potential banana skin against bottom side Parkway Eagles.
Jack Markley gave Deeping the edge, but Parkway quickly replied.
Markley restored the Blues' advantage after collecting a splendid long pass from Josh Smith and Deeping went on to make sure of the points in the second period courtesy of a Ryan Cotterell strike.
Previous leaders Abbey dropped to second after a 1-1 draw at Bourne.
