Boyd stars in promotion party: A late Dean Keates strike topped off the promotion party at London Road.Posh finished their League Two season with a 2-2 draw at home to Swindon.

Keates strike in the 90th minute ensured Posh earned a point from the last game of the season, but the result hardly matterd.

On an afternoon when heroes were honoured and chairman Darragh Macanthony was rightly cheered from the rafters it was George Boyd who lit up the match action.

Keates, a man celebrating his sixth promotion, deserved the plaudits that inevitably flew his way, but for the previous 91 minutes he, like every other Posh player, was in Boyd's shadow.

Posh certainly had enough possession and chances to win several games, but Swindon's two-man team of excellent goal-grabber Simon Cox and inspired goalkeeper Phil Smith were good enough to thwart them on this day,

The prolific Simon Cox (17, 42) netted both Swindon goals but Craig Mackail-Smith (40) and Dean Keates (91) twice equalised for Posh.
