Swales admits his side will do well to get anything from the Bank Holiday fixture

TEAM boss Trevor Swales is in realistic - rather than optimistic - mood ahead of a big Bank Holiday date for Panthers.

TEAM boss Trevor Swales is in realistic - rather than optimistic - mood ahead of a big Bank Holiday date for Panthers.Swales' admits the prospects of his side pocketing valuable points in the chase for an Elite League play-off place are seriously slim when they travel to high-flying Wolverhampton tonight (7.30pm).

The city side remain two points off the play-off pace but do a have a meeting in hand on their direct rivals Lakeside.

Wolverhampton own the sole remaining unbeaten home record in the Elite League and have only dropped a single point on their own shale. That came against title rivals Swindon last Monday.

Panthers were dispatched by a whopping 21 points on their previous visit to Monmore Green earlier this month and Swales will go into this 'B' fixture with plenty of trepidation.

He said: "The fact that only Swindon have managed to get anything at Wolverhampton all year highlights how tough a place it is to visit.

"It would be a nice boost if we could at least collect a point, but in all honesty I think that is unlikely bearing in mind the way in which we were beaten there only three weeks ago.

"I expect the riders to put on a better show than on that occasion and do all they can to improve our disappointing recent away form."

Panthers are set to be at full-strength. Kenneth Hansen overcame a bout of concussion to line up as a reserve in the Nordic GP on Saturday night and is expected to race tonight.

Wolverhampton: Fredrik Lindgren, Nicolai Klindt, Tai Woffinden, Adam Skornicki, Peter Karlsson, Chris Kerr, Ty Proctor.

Panthers: Niels Kristian Iversen, Claus Vissing, Kenneth Hansen, Kenneth Bjerre, Mads Korneliussen, Henning Bager, Ales Dryml.

Referee: Paul Carrington.
