TRANSFER LATEST: Elder prefers Bees to Posh
Posh have given up on their pursuit of the 21 year-old Leicester City left-back who was a huge success at the ABAX Stadium last season.
Director of football Barry Fry, the man in charge of transfer negotiations at Posh, said: “We tried hard fo Callum and he indicated he wanted to come back and play for us.

“It’s a shame, but not a big problem because Andrew Hughes has been outstanding a left-back in pre-season, while young Lewis Freestone has also been exceptional.
“I will be speaking to the manager later today (July 27) to see if he wants to try for another full-back.”
Hughes was a summer signing from Newport County. Freestone is just 16 and a product of the Posh Academy.

Hide AdNewport, Crawley and Stevenage have all enquired about taking young Posh winger Harry Anderson on loan. There have been no offers for another inexperienced winger Jordan Nicholson, who is also available on loan.
Posh are still trying to off-load highly-paid former captain Jack Payne who pulled out of an appearance in last night’s 2-2 friendly draw at Lincoln with an injury.
Posh have had a couple of tentative enquiries regarding left-back Kgosi Ntlhe, but no firm offers.
Ntlhe is understood to be training on his own. He has been released by Posh, but the club can still seek a compensation fee as he is under 24 and a product of the Posh Academy.
