New Peterborough United signing Jon Taylor believes he has joined a team of winners
The 21 year-old winger became the club’s first summer signing when moving from League Two side Shrewsbury for an undisclosed fee.
Taylor, who has signed a three-year contract, said: “I had a few offers from elsewhere, but I didn’t want to go and sit on the bench at a Championship club or be involved in a relegation fight.
“I wanted to join a team capable of winning things and that’s what I believe I have done.
“As soon as I spoke to the manager I knew I was coming here. We talked about how he wants his team to play and about how he will improve me.
“I want to be in a side that plays attacking football and that’s what the manager believes in.
“I can’t wait to get started. I’m convinced it’s a great move for me.”
Posh boss Darren Ferguson was impressed with Taylor’s desire to come to London Road despite the interest from other clubs.
Ferguson said: “Jon’s a very good player. He’s very quick and he can score goals, but most importantly he has desire and he’s joining us for the right reasons.
“He’s a good age and we can develop him further. He already adds something different to the squad.
