Peterborough United forward Jon Taylor been shortlisted for the League One Player-of-the-Month award for October.
The 23 year-old was in dazzling form in a Posh team that scored 16 goals in six matches, He scored three of them, two in the thrilling 5-3 win over Millwall at the ABAX Stadium and one in the 2-1 win at Swindon.
Taylor’s citation read: “Taylor stood out for his energy as much as the quality of his long-range shooting. Two delightful goals against Millwall and another at Swindon Town complemented his ball-carrying ability.”
Taylor’s rivals for the award are teenage Coventry striker Adam Armstrong, who scored twice against Posh last weekend (October 31), Bradford City’s central defender Reece Burke and Millwall forward Aiden O’Brien.
The short list for the League One manager of the month award is: Gary Caldwell (Wigan), Dean Saunders (Chesterfield), Mark Robins (Scunthorpe) and Phil Parkinson (Bradford City).
The winners will be revealed on Friday (November 6).
