Peterborough United manager Graham Westley insists his team are not far behind the best in League One.

Westley has overseen an away win at lowly Bradford and a home defeat to high-flying Bury in his two matches in charge.

Posh are 15th in League One ahead of Saturday’s (October 3) home game with Millwall, but the new boss believes that, given time, his team will find enough improvement to quickly climb the table.

“The top sides are not much better than us,” Westley announced. “And the good thing from my point of view is that the sort of improvement we need is easy to find.

“We just need to add the equivalent of inches to our game and it’s up to me and (assistant manager) Grant McCann to find them.

“We will keep the spirits and confidence high. The squad has the ability to do well. They just need to learn some lessons quickly.”

Posh midfielder Erhun Oztumer starts a three-game ban on Saturday after picking up a red card against Bury. Jermaine Anderson, who has not been selected for the next set of England Under 20 matches, completes his three-match suspension this weekend.
