Posh midfielder Jermaine Anderson has been picked for England.
The 19 year-old, who joined the Posh Academy as a 16 year-old when released by Arsenal, was today (August 27) included in the first England Under 20 squad for the new campaign named by head coach Keith Downing.
They get their season under way on Monday September 7 with a match against the Czech Republic at Shrewsbury Town’s Greenhous Meadow.
“There is a wide range of talent within the squad and it is up to us to try and push them and to give them opportunities,” said Downing.
Anderson made his first team Posh debut as a 16-year-old and has already clocked up nearly 50 appearances in the first team. He is likened to Yaya Toure by club chairman Darragh MacAnthony.
