Have your say

Peterborough United have named a strong side to take on Histon in a friendly tonight (August 2, 7.30pm kick off).

Manager Grant McCann’s selection for this evening could be a big clue as to his thinking for the starting line-up for the League One opener at Rochdale on Saturday (August 6),

It’s unlikely any of those, with the possible exception of midfielder Jermaine Anderson, starting tonight will be in the side at Spotland.

Experienced central defender Michael Bostwick, centre-back Ricardo Santos, midfielder Adil Nabi, winger Jon Taylor and striker Tom Nichols are expected to to feature at the Glass World Stadium.

McCann said: “Saturday’s team is in my head, but there are still one or two decisions to be made.

“Jermaine Anderson needs another 45 minutes after he missed the recent friendly at Brentford as part of his planned recovery from long-term injury.”

Posh staged their annual pre-season squad team photo shoot and released their squad numbers for the 2016-17 campaign yesterday (August 1).
