New Peterborough United midfielder Harry Beautyman has continued a dream season by completing a dream move

Beautyman signed for Posh on loan from Conference side Welling United today (November 25). He is expected to make the move permanent in January.

The 22 year-old former Leyton Orient youngster believes he can give his new club some attacking impetus from midfield areas. Beautyman has scored 11 goals in 21 outings for Welling this season and scored a goal for England C - the England non-league team - against Estonia Under 23s earlier this month.

“The season so far couldn’t have gone any better,” Beautyman said. “I would have settled for 15 goals in the season so to have 11 before Christmas is very pleasing.

“I’ve also played and scored for England and now I’ve achieved my aim of getting back into the Football League.

“I’ve had my down and concentrated on playing as well as I could. I was aware of rumours that clubs were watching me, but I tried to ignore it until something actually happened.

“I then received a phone call on Sunday night (November 24) telling me that Peterborough wanted to sign me. I came up and had a look around yesterday and decided I wanted to come here straight away.

“I believe Barnsley and Swindon were watching me, but Peterborough’s record with young players is outstanding.

“I like to think I’m a box-to-box midfielder. I’ve been playing in the hole behind a striker for Welling, but I’ve not been shirking my defensive responsibilities.

“I’ve contributed about seven assists this season as well, but I do take the corners and free-kicks!

“It’s great to be back in the League though. I was at Leyton Orient from the age of nine to when I became a first-year pro, but a change of manager hurt me and I went out into non-league.

“I’ve grafted hard for this day and I now hope I can quickly catch the manager’s eye and force my way into his thinking for Friday’s (November 28) match.”

Beautyman can expect to be in the Posh squad for Friday’s League One clash with leaders Bristol City, a game that will be televised live by Sky Sports.

Posh are still hoping to make further signings ahead of the deadline for loan transfer on Thursday (November 27).
