Harry Beautyman has been bought by Peterborough United to deliver flair, energy and goals from midfield.
The 22 year-old moved to Posh from Conference side Welling United on loan this week. The deal is expected to become permanent in January.
Beautyman arrives with a golden reputation. He scored 11 goals in just 21 appearances for Welling this season.
Ferguson said: “I like Harry a lot. He has a lot of energy as well as a lot of ability and he’s a natural goal-scorer as he times his runs into the penalty area so well.
“He’s a real box-to-box player who gets up and down the pitch with ease.
“I’m delighted to have him. He looks after the ball well and can play in many formations which is important to me.”
Beautyman was briefly a young professional at Leyton Orient before drifting into non-league football. .
Beautyman said: “It’s great to be back in the Football League. I was disappointed when I left Orient, but I’ve grafted hard to get back and I’m delighted it’s happened with Peterborough.
“I understand Barnsley and Swindon were after me, but Peterborough’s record with young players is outstanding.
“I have had a great season so far and I hope it continues at my new club. I’ll be working hard to catch the manager’s eye.”
