We asked followers of @PTAlanSwann on Twitter for their favourite Posh FA Cup memories. Here are the top 15.

1) Posh v Newcastle live on television in 2002 .The mighty David Farrell scored a wonder goal. @j_cook36

2) The 1-0 win v Leeds in 1986 when goalkeeper John Turner got injured and left-back Martin Pike went in goal. It was a bit hairy going back through town though! I also had to keep booking afternoons off work every time the Brighton replay that season was postponed. @leccymansteve

3) The best has to be Posh 2 Arsenal 1 in 1965. London Road was heaving. John Radford’s goal meant it was 1-0 Arsenal at half-time, before Peter McNamee and Derek Dougan scored for Posh. Dougan gave Ian Ure the runaround all game. Willie Duff made a great save near the end from Alan Skirton, local man Ron Cooper came out on top against George Armstrong and the toilets overflowed in the main stand! @KelvinFarrell

4) I got thrown out of my technology class & had my walkman confiscated for listening to the behind-closed-doors Kingstonian game in 1992. @Matt_w81

5) January 1965: Posh 2 Arsenal 1 - ‘the Doog’ and Peter McNamee (later teacher at John Fisher) scored. 30,056 fans there and I couldn’t see a thing! @TobyWoody

6) Darlington away in 2002 when we had to beat them to play Newcastle in the next round. We drew and then won the replay. @StagPete

7) Tranmere away in 2006. I was nine and Darragh MacAnthony put on 39 coaches free of charge and mine broke down! Or Colchester last season as I took a penalty at half time and scored. @Liampufc1996

8) Staines away in 2007 was a great day out. That’s what the early rounds of the FA Cup should be about. @xAnders50nx

9) Winning 1-0 at Notts County (who won promotion to the old Division One at the end of that season) in 1981 with a Robbie Cooke goal is my favourite Posh FA Cup memory. @alanposh

10) When we lost 1-0 away to Dagenham in 1984. A terrace wall collapsed, there was a delay in play, and we then only played 86 minutes. Manager John Wile was not happy!

On Match of the Day Wile said: “You’d be accused of sour grapes if you said anything,” and then started to moan about it! @wareen72

11) Jimmy Greaves sported a threadbare perm he quite possibly borrowed from a geriatric lady in a Margate care-home when he played for Barnet against Posh in 1977. @Paul_Cyclops

12) Man City at home in 1981. There was a 27,000-plus crowd to see Posh lose 1-0. Brighton at home in 1986 when a lump of snow earned us an exciting 2-2 draw! Errington Kelly’s shot was going nowhere until it deflected in off the snow. And in 1988 away to Gillingham. We were 2-0 up and then 3-2 down before Dave Longhurst equalised with his hat-trick goal in the 87th minute. @Edgaralanpoe48

13) A 2-0 win over Cambridge at the Abbey Stadium in 1984. Errington Kelly scored both goals in the first meeting between the sides for five or six years. @Keenan69Ray

14) I must be only person not to see Posh beat Arsenal in 1965 as I had to play for the Posh A team away to Warboys, Every other game in the area was postponed, but Posh refused! @john6anderson

15) How can you top beating the Cobblers 4-0 in 1994? @StevenAdams2
