CHRIS TURNER STATUE FUND: We need a final push from Posh fans

The Chris Turner Statue Fund has smashed through the £50,000 barrier.

But that’s still £30,000 short of the £80,000 needed to get a permanent tribute to one of Peterborough United’s most famous, most popular and most successful sons.

I bumped into a fund committee member over the weekend and was astonished to discover just 100 Posh fans have so far signed up for the easiest way to contribute to the fund, namely the CT5 project.

That’s a mere 100 out of the 6,000 or so regular Posh fans.

I feel embarrassed I haven’t joined, but I will be today (July 11) so please join me and turn the dream of a fitting tribute to a great man into a reality.

For just £10 per month (33p a day) fans can know they are donating to a worthy cause and will receive benefits including:

*Free Chris Turner Tribute DVD

*Named as a major contributor in the statue diary which will be held in the club museum and available for public view

*A certificate endorsed by the club in recognition to your contribution

*A Prize Draw each month

*Exclusive members only events.

*Other Posh based incentives

*Before and after entry to the executive suite at the ABAX Stadium on the day of unveiling along with a limited edition numbered photo of the statue unveiling. (This is only available to those that have made every payment up to the unveiling date). The football club are completely behind this initiative which has already brought all fans together under a common purpose, and it is anticipated that the CT5 Club will be hosting some very special and exclusive Posh related events.

Details of payment can be found at www.thechristurnerstatue.co.uk.
