Friday, February 10, 2012 at 10:30 PMDerek Dougan was a favourite because I was 'that age' when he stuck in the equaliser against the Arsenal (+ other heroics). BUT like #6 over the full 50 years I would go for that man ROBSON - Posh through and through and the source of one of the best Posh chants - 'We've got Tommy Tommy Tommy Tommy Robson on the wing, on the wing, we've got Tommy Tommy Tommy Tommy Robson on the wing, on the wing... etc. etc.

Friday, February 10, 2012 at 11:54 AMDick Emery was my favourite. "Ooh you are awful! But I like you." How he managed to produce all of those hilarious sketches at the same time as playing professional football is beyond me.

Thursday, February 9, 2012 at 10:28 PMChildhood hero was Jack Walls, a proper goalie complete with woolie-jumper and flat cap, and then in my teens two from the great teams of the mid sixties, frank Rankmore and the Doog. If I had to pick one though it would have to be Tommy, for entertainment value, some great goals, penalties won and loyalty.

Thursday, February 9, 2012 at 07:32 PMHas to be Tommy Robson as my dad never stops talking about him as being the best player to pull on a posh shirt. for me its king Ken Charlery. A true icon who played with a smile on his face......

Thursday, February 9, 2012 at 01:30 PMCan't believe nobody has mentioned Derek Dougan. As a five year old I knocked on his door to ask him to sign my Posh scrapbook. His wife asked me to leave it with her and collect it the next day. Sure enough he had signed every photo of him in there mainly from ET match reports. He also once got booked for pulling a face at the ref, and of course he scored goals including the equaliser against Arsenal when we beat them in the cup. When we signed him as a third divsion team it would be a bit like Bournemouth signing Peter Crouch now.
