Posh cut open by Daggers

Gaby Zakuani scored for Posh reserves against Dagenham & Redbridge

Gaby Zakuani scored for Posh reserves against Dagenham & Redbridge

Posh went down 2-1 at home to Dagenham in a reserve team friendly today (October 24).

Posh conceded an early goal and then another in the second-half to a Daggers team that included former Posh winger Dominic Green.

Gaby Zakuani, who almost scored in the first-half, pulled a goal back with a header from a corner late on, but despite heavy pressure Posh couldn’t find an equaliser.

Danny Swanson and Jermaine Anderson came closest, while 43 year-old goalkeeping coach Barry Richardson made a couple of smart stops in the Posh goal.

Youth team player Joe Burgess, the ball boy involved in last night’s altercation with Huddersfield striker Jermaine Beckford, was in the Posh team, but long-term injury victim Dave Hibbert missed out.

Posh: Richardson, Butt, Zakuani, Burgess (sub Lawlor), Sage, Anderson, Wood, Swanson, Newell, Mendez-Laing, Gordon.
