Little to leave London Road

Mark Little has turned down the offer of a new contract at Posh

Mark Little has rejected a new contract offer from Peterborough United.

Posh chairman Darragh MacAnthony revealed the news during a Q & A with Posh fans on Twitter today (May 29).

Full-back Little’s Posh contract runs out at the end of June when he will be able to leave London Road on a free transfer. MacAnthony expects veteran midfielder Grant McCann to sign his new contract soon.

MacAnthony said: “Grant talks went great & should be resolved soon enough. Little turned down new deal so we move on. We have 2 great right-backs anyway!”

Little was placed on the transfer list last summer, but went on to perform well for Posh in the Championship, making 43 appearances and playing well at right-back or right wing-back.

The 24 year-old made 134 appearances for Posh after moving to the club on a free transfer from Wolves in June 2010.

Posh are unlikely to seek a new right-back as Craig Alcock finished the season strongly in that position and teenager Michael Richens is highly regarded at London Road.
