Darragh denies Posh Pope link

Peterborough United news from the Peterborough Telegraph - peterboroughtoday.co.uk/posh

Peterborough United news from the Peterborough Telegraph - peterboroughtoday.co.uk/posh

Peterborough United chairman Darragh MacAnthony insists his club have made no bid for free-scoring Port Vale striker Tom Pope.

Reports in the National press today (January 30) suggested that Posh had made a £60,000 bid for a 27 year-old striker with 27 goals to his name from 33 appearances this season.

But MacAnthony has now refuted those claims on his Twitter account.

Posh signed midfielder Jack Payne on loan from Gillingham last weekend and are keen to bring playmaker George Thorne back to the club on loan from West Brom.
