DARREN Ferguson wants Posh to rain on Cardiff’s parade in tonight’s Championship fixture at the Cardiff City Stadium (7.45pm).

It’s the Bluebirds’ last home game before they tackle Liverpool in the Carling Cup Final at Wembley and home boss Malky Mackay is desperate to sign off with a victory.

Posh boss Ferguson described the achievements of Mackay and his side so far this season as ‘fantastic’, but he’s confident his own players can pick up one of their best results of the campaign.

Ferguson said: “Malky has done a superb job in his first season at the club. What Cardiff and their manager have achieved so far has been fantastic.

“They’re in the hunt for automatic promotion and they’ve reached a Wembley cup final which is good going by anyone’s standards.

“But we know we can give anyone a game at this level as long as we play to our potential and I’m confident we will put on a performance tonight.

“One of our best results so far was beating Cardiff at our place. They they have so many good players they are certain to be difficult opponents, but we take confidence from the fact that we have beaten them once.

“That was a great game of football and I would expect another entertaining match tonight between two good sides.”

Ferguson is likely to hand a debut to on-loan left-back Matthew Briggs (left) tonight. Mark Little is expected to drop to the substitutes’ bench.

The squad trained at Aston Villa yesterday before heading on down to South Wales. Ferguson reports that everyone is in fine fettle.

“The lads have been excellent in the last couple of days,” Ferguson revealed. “We were all disappointed the West Ham match was called off at the weekend, but we’ve trained well since then.

“Our target for the season hasn’t changed. Five more wins would get us close to 50 points and that would represent a successful season in my eyes.”

Yeah, we rained on their parade all right. NOT. Teflon Joe letting the team down yet again.

So much for "raining on their parade" Cardiff are raining in the goals tonight. Doubt we'll come back from this one

Just a quick little point - fergie's "press conferences" always say the same thing - does he actually turn up, or does swanny here just copy and paste the same words in each week ... 50 points... Excellent in training... He's tired so he gets a few months off... Anyway, keep the faith, utp and although I can't get to Wales this evening I'm there on Saturday and will be behind all the boys, booing noone - I hope you all do the same...

Being constantly excellent in training should eventually rub off in the actual games. Don't keep mocking them,,, think about the exciting times they gave us in the earlier part of the season. I am sure it will come back. Remember every team goes through a rocky spell, Just look at Southampton and West Hams games recently and they are top of the league. Our season will start again tonight. 2-0 to Posh
