Star’s FA Vase clash is off due to the weather
NORTHERN Star’s FA Vase fifth round trip to Tividale today has been called off due to the weather. The game has been rearranged for next Saturday, February 18.
Just one non-league match involving local sides has so far avoided being called off.
That is fifth-placed Stamford’s trip to face Leek in the Evo-Stik League Division One South.
The Peterborough and District League schedule could also be wiped out. All bar five matches had been called off by early yesterday evening and more were expected to follow.
Most of Sunday’s local football programme has also already been cancelled.
Elsewhere, a 9am pitch inspection is planned for City of Peterborough’s English Hockey League Conference East trip to Wimbledon today.
Organisers of tomorrow’s Stamford Striders St Valentines 30k are hopeful the race will beat the weather. It is planned to clear snow off parts of the course this morning.
