The Daniels Cup kicks off tonight (March 7) with a quarter-final tie between Bourne and Ketton at the Abbey Lawns (7.45pm).

The higher level hosts will start favourites against Peterborough Premier Division opposition.

The Daniels Cup is an invitation event for eight local sides.

Holders Blackstones travel to Wittering in their first match, while last season’s runners-up Stamford Lions have a town derby at Stamford Bels tomorrow.

The semi-final draw has already been made.

Draw: Bourne/Ketton v Stamford Bels/Stamford Lions, Wittering/Blackstones v Cottesmore/Uppingham Town.

Peterborough League Division Four side Cardea are in Hunts Lower Junior Cup action against Fenstanton Reserves at Huntingdon Town’s Jubille Park ground tomorrow (March , 7.45pm).

Cardea didn’t exactly warm up in style. They lost their big league game against leaders Premiair 6-1 on Saturday (March 4).
