There was a winning start last night (February 25) for the new Peterborough Northern Star managerial team.

Dom Genovese and Seb Hayes were in charge of the team for the ChromaSport & Trophies United Counties League Premier Division cl;ash at Huntingdon and the city side won 2-1.

Phil Stebbing put the visitors into a fourth minute lead after Edson Fernandes and Jason Kilbride combined.

The advantage was doubled on the quarter-of-an-hour mark when an attempted clearance by the home goalkeeper deflected off Luke Hunnings.

Huntingdon scored a last minute consolation when Levi Wright’s shot from 25 yards took a big deflection off Fernandes.

Holbeach meanwhile dropped two unexpected points in the title race when only manging to draw 2-2 at home with Boston Town.

Boston went 2-0 up within 30 minutes and Livo Dube and Matt Warfield hit back to give Tigers a share of the points.
