Wisbech Town’s superb winning run in the ChromaSport & Trophies United Counties League came to an end last night (March 17).

The Fenmen were beaten 2-1 at Peterborough Northern Star, a result which dented their Premier Division title hopes and ended a fabulous run of 13 wins on the trot.

Jason Kilbride fired the opener for Star on 19 minutes and Tommy Treacher levelled with 20 minutes to go. Then up popped substitute James Hill-Seekings to hit the winner.

Both sides were reduced to 10 men on the hour-mark when Nick Bishop from Wisbech and Star’s Josh Sanders were dismissed after a flare-up.

In the Evo-Stik League, there were 0-0 draws for Stamford and Spalding - Stamford at Rushall Olympic in the Northern Premier Division and Spalding at Goole in Division One South.
