Peterborough Sports will give their revamped PSL base a grand opening . . . with a little bit of help from the Posh Legends.

The United Counties League Division One newcomers will host the Posh stars of yesteryear on Sunday, July 28.

The Lincoln Road venue boasts new changing facilities and a stand following improvement required to meet Football Association criteria for Step 6 football.

Sports’ first UCL campaign will begin on August 10 with another first - a debut appearance in the FA Vase - following the next weekend.

Sports boss Seamus Morgan is currently keeping his powder dry in the local transfer market.

Morgan is yet to add any new faces to a squad which earned promotion by finishing third in the Peterborough & District League Premier Division last season.

Morgan said: “We’re content to monitor what’s happening at the other non-league clubs in the area before possibly making a few moves of our own.

“We’re delighted to have agreed terms with the vast majority of the players who got us up and look forward to giving them the chance to shine in the UCL.”
