FA Cup minnows Peterborough Sports have been drawn at home in the first qualifying round . . . if they manage to win at Newmarket Town on Saturday (August 29) in the preliminary round.

The United Counties League Division One pacesetters triumphed at UCL Premier Division side Eynesbury Rovers in an extra prelininary round tie when making a return to the competition following a 93-year absence two weeks ago.

That earned them the trip to Newmarket and if they pull off another giant-killing act there - Newmarket play in the Eastern Counties League Premier Division - they will face Southern League Premier Division outfit Hitchin Town at PSL on September 12.

The winners of the Wisbech v Holbeach tie on Saturday will also be at home in the next round - to either Stourport Swifts or Alvechurch - and if Yaxley can overcome Godmanchester Rovers they’ll also be at home in the next round to East Thurrock United.

Stamford enter the competition at the first qualifying round stage and have been drawn away to Leamington.
