NON-LEAGUE FOOTBALL: Holbeach win the Fenland derby

There were goals galore at Carters Park last night (May 4) as Holbeach beat Wisbech 5-3 to secure a top-four finish in the UCL Premier Division.

It was a harsh outcome for Wisbech striker Michael Frew who scored a four-minute hat-trick for the Fenmen with goals after 15, 16 and 19 minutes.

Those goals overhauled a Jake Clitheroe starter for the Tigers nine minutes in.

A thrill-a-minute first half saw the game turn again with Lee Beeson reducing the arrears direct from a 27th minute corner, and two minutes later Clitheroes’s second left the contest tied.

Top scorer Josh Ford gave Holbeach the lead with a penalty on the hour and in the last minute he slotted home another spot-kick to move onto 26 goals for the season and a share of fourth place in the Premier Division scoring list.
