After ending their home hoodoo against Hyde United on Saturday (January 2), Stamford AFC were hoping to string a run of wins together at the Zeeco Stadium.

But their Dooson Cup - the League Cup competition for Evo Stik League sides - tie against Buxton at the Zeeco Stadium tonight (January 5) has now been postponed.

The tie has been re-arranged for next Tuesday (January 12). Before then Stamford entertain Stourbridge in a Northern Premier Division clash on Saturday (January 9).

Stamford claimed their first home win of the season with a 2-1 success over Hyde when recent signing Jake Newman scored his 31st goal in 23 matches this season. Newman was signed from Spalding.

All-conquering Peterborough Sports can reach the semi-finals of the United Counties League Cup tonight. Sports, who have won all 20 of the First Division matches, travel to lowly Premier Division side Oadby.
