Holders Stamford knocked Spalding out of the re-vamped Lincs Senior Cup last night (July 17).

A goal towards the end of the first-half from Jordan Smith was followed by a late penalty from substitute Ryan Robbins as the Daniels eased to a 2-0 success. A foul on Smith won the spot-kick.

The competition has a bigger entry this season hence the early start. Stamford now face Gainsborough Trinity in the next round on Tuesday (July 21).

United Counties Premier Division side Wisbech Town secured the signing of prolific striker Declen Rogers yesterday.
