LAST NIGHT'S FOOTBALL: Star crushed by Corby Town

There were mixed fortunes for the two local UCL Premier Division sides on cup duty last night (September 21).

Peterborough Northern Star were no match for Northern Premier League outfit Corby Town and crashed to a 5-0 defeat in the first round of the Northants Senior Cup but Holbeach won 2-0 away at Boston Town in the League Cup.

On target for Holbeach were Jordan Thomas in the 13th minute and Aaron Eyett in the 77th minute.

In Division One of the United Counties League, Bourne were beaten 5-3 at table-topping Oakham. Zak Munton (2) and Craig Rook were the Bourne scorers.
