Chand’s calling for Holbeach to return to their best tonight

HOLBEACH are under orders to follow up their worst performance of the season with one of their best.

The Tigers were blasted by boss John Chand following a 3-0 home loss at the hands of Wellingborough in the United Counties League Premier Division.

He expects them to bounce back when they travel to Bourne tonight for a Lincs Senior Trophy semi-final tie (7.45pm).

Holbeach will be hot favourites to progress against their lower-level hosts, but Bourne are unbeaten this month.

Chand said: “We need to do a lot better than on Saturday when our performance was nothing short of awful. We made mistakes in key areas which is not like us and can’t happen again. “We’ll pick our strongest possible team tonight and go all out to get to the final.”

This is incredibly Bourne’s first match in the competition. They received a bye to the quarter-finals where they awaited the winners of a first round clash between Deeping and Sleaford.

Rangers won that game but both teams were later thrown out for fielding ineligible players.

Barton Town Old Boys lie in wait for the winners of tonight’s clash in the final of a cup won by locals Blackstones last season.

Injury-ravaged Deeping entertain St Ives in the UCL Premier Division at Outgang Road tonight.

n NORTHERN Star continue the defence of their UCL League Cup crown tonight when hosting lower-level Potton at Chestnut Avenue.

Northern Star have space for supporters on their coach to Tividale for an FA Vase fifth round tie on February 11.

Seats are priced at £12 and the departure time is 9.30am from the club’s Chestnut Avenue base.
