UNDER 15: DEEPING were almost blown off the top of the Division One table after being hit by a second-half storm by Hampton.
Having fallen behind to an Anthony Coombe penalty, Deeping hit back with Alex Metcalfe pulling them level before Ben Aspinall fired the home side ahead when Deeping were awarded the second spot-kick of the game.
But after the break it was Hampton who came out all guns blazing as Jack Whaley and Tom Morley both went close to an equaliser. And with five minute to go at Outgang Road Toby Mukahlma looked odds on to make it 2-2 only to be denied by a great save from Deeping keeper Tom Philpott.
The win keeps Deeping three points clear of reigning champions Leverington White but manager Nigel Reeve considers his side at best an outside bet for the title.
He said: “We did well in the first half but into the wind after the break we were under pressure quite a bit. Hampton came onto us and had a few chances and had it not been for a great save from Tom close to the end they would have snatched a point.
“The win means we stay top but I would put Netherton and Leverington ahead of us in the title chase.”
JAKE Hopkisson scored four times to ensure reigning champions, Leverington, stayed on the pace as they hammered Ketton 10-0.
IN Division Two, Parkway Eagles delivered their best performance of the season to beat Stamford 4-2.
Reece McGookin led the way with a hat-trick and Liam Oliver-Smith got the other goal as the Eagles soared to new heights.
Manager Norman Jordan said: “We have been getting better and better in our first season at this level and Sunday was our best yet.”
A hat-trick for Aaron Dunmore saw Whittlesey rescue what could be a vital point after drawing 3-3 with Sawtry Blue.
Dunmore pulled the Division Two leaders back on terms three times against the Blues who netted through Sam Brooks, Connor Trewren and Liam Bohonis.
IN Division Three, Northborough became the first team this season to beat Wimblington.
Goals for Myles Phillips (2), Harry Sanders (2) and Lewis Gregory saw the league leaders toppled 5-3.
PARKSIDE continued their stunning season by storming into the final of the League KO Cup with a 6-2 win over Woodston.
Reece Goddon (2), Julio Garrido (2), Jack Gittins and Arthur Tumbare were all on target as Division Two Parkside got their revenge after losing to Woodston in last season’s Hunts Cup final.
Parkside manager Neil Shayler said: “They got the Youth League team of the month award before the game which I think fired my boys up a bit.
“We took our chances really well in the second half.”
In the other semi-final, Netherton Hawks won 3-0 against Bourne thanks to goals from Aaron Moore, Mustafa Jaffa and Muhammed Suge.
