Werrington reach two cup finals

They head the Division One standings by five points and on Sunday won through to the League Cup final.

They beat Holbeach Yellow 3-2 in their semi-final thanks to a hat-trick by Cai Taylor and will meet Werrington Athletic Blue in the final on April 23.

Werrington overcame Blackstones 4-0 in their semi-final with Ryley Barfoot (2), James Cooper and Leon Kavanagh the boys on target.

It was also semi-final day on Sunday in the Under 14 Hereward Cup and here there was another Werrington team to win through.

That was Werrington Athletic Red who beat March Park Rangers Red 3-2 thanks to goals by Joel Fuller, Imran Ramji and Tyler Savage.

Their final opponents, also on April 23, will be their big Division Three rivals Thurlby Tigers. They beat Wisbech Town Acorns 2-1 in their semi-final with Sean Bedford and Harry Lesiw getting their goals.
