Stones are hoping to roll into the cup final

BLACKSTONES will be hoping to go one better than last season after booking their place in the semi-finals of the League Cup.
Last year the Stamford side were dumped out at the same stage by eventual winners Deeping Blue but this time boss Raf Mazzarella is confident his side can take the next step.
Now playing top flight football for the first time, last season’s Division Two champions stormed into the last four on Sunday by beating Yaxley Lynx 4-1 thanks to goals from Brandon Gallagher (2), Alex Szymanski and Scott Waumsley.
And with holders Deeping Blue knocked out by Netherton Falcons Mazzarella thinks his side have a good chance of making it all the way to the final.
He said: “It’s great to be back in the semis and if we can avoid Eye, I fancy our chances of getting through.
“We have come on in leaps and bounds since last season and I think we showed that the other week against Eye.
“Okay we lost the game 4-3 but it was 3-3 with only a few minutes to go and on balance of play we definitely deserved at least a draw.
“So it would be great if we can get through the semis and play them again in the final.”
n REECE Driscoll scored twice and George Smith grabbed the other as the Falcons upset the formbook to soar into the last four by beating Deeping Blue 3-1.
In the other two semi-finals goals for Tom Hebblewhite, Brandin Mahon and Jacko Withers saw Pinchbeck breeze past Corby 3-0 while Billy Robinson smashed in a hat-trick as Eye beat Stamford 5-0. Andre Williams and Joel O’ Malley were the other scorers for Eye.
n IN Division One Bourne ended their miserable run of form by beating Netherton Bluejays 3-1.
After eight games without a win, goals from Ben Moss, Bradley Danahar and Nathaniel Wakefield finally gave the young Lincolnshire lads something to shout about.
n BEN Gale was a real force to be reckoned with as Wisbech St Mary Yellow kept their Division Two title hopes alive by beating Parkway Eagles 7-5.
Gale netted a hat-trick while Cameron Lee (2), Dylan Mason and Lewis Swann were also on target.
As well as an own goal, Harry Catanach (2), Joe Rooney and Musa Bhatti were on target for Parkway.
