Moulton Harrox lost their 100 per cent winning record in the Peterborough League Premier Division on Saturday (January 2).

The table-toppers had won their previous 14 matches ahead of their trip to Netherton United, but they were held to a 1-1 draw by the city side.#

Netherton had the better of the game in the first-half and went in front direct from a free-kick from set-piece specialist Steve Mastin.

But Harrox came on strong after the break and deservedly equalised through Ollie Maltby. It took a fine late save from home ‘keeper Ross Ingram to stop Harrox claiming a winner.

Harrox are now three points clear at the top and have a game in hand on second-placed Whittlesey Athletic who came through a tough game at home at Holbeach United Reserves. A single goal from veteram Ricky Hailstone was enough to claim the three points.

High-fliers Pinchbeck United and Peterborough Sports Reserves fought out a 1-1 draw with both sides finishing with 10 men. Danny Steward fired Sports ahead in the first-half, but prolific Pinchbeck marksman Dan Woods equalised after the break. Lea Jordan was in outstanding form in the Sports goal.

Tony Edwards (Pinchbeck) and Dan Fountain (Sports) were dismissed by referee Craig Hardy. Sports are third in the table, five points off top spot, and five points in front of fourth-placed Pinchbeck.

Jonathan Griggs scored twice as sixth-placed ICA Sports thumped Sawtry 4-1. Lewis Capes and James Horne were also on target.

Uppingham’s winning streak in the Premier Division stretched to six games with a 4-2 success at Thorney, while Ketton started 2016 with a 2-1 win at Langtoft United. Alex Collyer and Seb Hood scored for Ketton who hung on to win despite a red card for Lewis Morley.
