Netherton Phoenix Under 13s provided the first shock of the season in a Junior Alliance League cup competition.
The Division Two lads overcame Division One side Hampton Royal 6-2 in an Under 13 League Cup first round clash at The Grange.
But while the result might have come as a shock there was no surprise on the Phoenix goalscoring front.
Once again it was Emmanuel Ochube leading the way. He hit a hat-trick to make it nine goals in three games with the others coming from Daniel Laxton (2) and Charlie Martin.
Other big cup winners in this age group were Wisbech St Mary and Deeping Claret.
Alfie Rogers netted four times for St Mary in an 8-0 triumph against Northern Star White in the League Cup while Deeping Claret beat Glinton & Northborough Amber 7-0 in the PFA Cup with Ben Bellamy and Luke Phillips each bagging a brace.
Under 13 Division Four was the place to be for goals on Sunday with the three games played producing 41 of them.
Table-topping Park Farm Black beat Parkside 14-2 with Lacko Stanislav (5) and Daniel Sot (4) doing most of the damage.
Netherton Hawks weren’t far behind. They trounced Tydd St Mary 12-2 and leading the way in that rout were Amani Hassan (4), Junayd Alibhai (3) and Muthassar Basharat (3).
In the other game played Wittering were 8-3 winners against Holbeach Black. Joseph Kinsella scored four times for Wittering and there were two goals each for Thomas Moss and Joseph Wilcox.
Wasps were Under 13 Division One champions last season and once again they look like being the team to beat.
They made it three wins out of three in Under 14 Division One after stinging Blackstones 4-0 with goals by Nasir Nabi (2), Taylor Horne and George Warrington.
In Division Two it’s Whittlesey setting the early pace.
They maintained their 100 per cent start to the season with a 4-0 beating of Deeping Amber through goals by Lewis Beckett, Calvin Fletcher, Kristian Frank and George Gilbert.
In Division Three, it’s Stamford at the head of affairs with a maximum nine points but they had to work hard to keep their winning run going against Pinchbeck. They nicked it 2-1 with Rory Guille hitting both their goals.
