LADIES FOOTBALL: Goals galore for Northern Star

Peterborough Northern Star made it three wins out of three in the East Midlands Women's League Premier Division yesterday (September 25) when thrashing Notts County Development 11-0 at the Branch Brothers Stadium.

Vicky Gallagher and Sophie Hurst both claimed hat-tricks in the rout with other strikes coming from Katie Steward (2), player-of-the-match Cassie Steward, Chanade Henderson and Deva Rawlings.

It was 3-0 at half-time and Star scored six of their goals in the last 10 minutes.

Star, who were relegated from the FA Women’s Premier League last season, are in second place in the table, a point behind Mansfield Town and with a game in hand.

Star are away next Sunday to Mansfield Hosiery Mills.
