Junior football: Lilley leads the way with four goals as Spalding boost title hopes

UNDER 9: SPALDING boss Marvin Scampion is predicting an explosive end to the Red Zone season.

Four goals for Jake Lilley and one for Luke Scampion saw his side seal a 5-2 win at Northborough to keep them in the hunt for the title.

And with Spalding due to complete their fixtures with a local derby against current leaders Arsenal Soccer School, Scampion is expecting fireworks.

He said: “I am definitely not ruling us out of winning the title. We have a great chance. We play Deeping next at home and if we can beat them I fancy the title race to go down to the last day when we play Arsenal.

“That could well be the game that decides it either way and it is a local derby so it should be a cracking game of football.”

PARKSIDE secured their second win of the Blue Zone season thanks to a hat-trick from Owen Deeks.

Deeks’ goals sealed a 3-0 victory at Wittering for Parkside who hope to end a difficult first season in competitive football on a high.

Manager Dave Le Gros said: “It was a really good performance. The boys passed the ball well and worked hard from the very first whistle and they got their rewards.

“It has been a difficult season for us but we have picked up a couple of wins now and that has given the boys a lot of confidence.”

DECLAN King was the star man for Yaxley Blue with a hat-trick in their 4-3 win against Oundle.

Gianni Cantone was also on target for Yaxley who kept their title hopes alive with the three points keeping them a point behind leaders Corby.

HARRY McLoughlin scored four times as Green Zone leaders Hampton turned on the style against Park Farm.

Rio Smith and Jack Polson both scored twice and Reece Campbell also got his name on the scoresheet as Hampton won 9-0 to stay one point ahead of Corby.

Manager Jamie McLoughlin said: “We have had a long break and it was a very windy morning but I thought the boys did really well and played some good football. We always enjoy playing Park Farm, they are a great little club and the boys are all good friends so we had a great morning.”

WHITE Zone champions Werrington Blue are now just three wins away from completing the perfect season.

Richard Paul scored four times in a 10-0 win at Crowland to make it 11 wins from 11 league games for the Blues this season.

Daniel Adcock got in on the goalfest by netting a hat-trick while Matthew Stillwell (2) and Sam Gardiner were also on target for the newly-crowned White Zone kings.

Werrington will be hoping to make it 14 from 14 by winning their final three games against Bourne, Netherton and Thurlby.

PASTON Flyers maintained their unbeaten record as they beat Parkway 12-1 to stay three points clear at the top of the Yellow Zone table.

Owen Dalliday led the rout with four goals, David Hillson netted a hat-trick and Thomas Fox (2), Josh Hogg (2) and Danny Prior also got their names on the scoresheet.
