UNDER 9: JONAH Jay had a whale of a time as Feeder Soccer laid down a marker in the Blue Zone title battle by hammering Kings Cliffe 12-0.

Jay struck four times as the city side ran riot with Wanya Madivadua grabbing a hat-trick while Murray Jacklin (2), Matthew Todisco, Oliver Sercombe and Solomon Snelling - with his first of the season - also got their names on the scoresheet.

The win leaves Feeder three points behind leaders Yaxley Blue with two games in hand. Goals for Toby Downes (2), Declan King (2), Gianni Cantone, Kyle Powell and Harper Bingham saw the Blues beat Parkside 7-1.

But with just three points covering the top five teams in the Blue Zone it will be some weeks before a clear favourite emerges from the pack.

BRADLEY Hollingsworth scored the only goal of the game as Eye became the first team this season to beat Deeping Amber.

Hollingsworth finished off a neat team move with just five minutes gone and while Deeping created their fair share of chances to get back into the game, the Eye defence of Dylan Mathias, Adam Godley and keeper Ethan Jones held firm.

The result leaves Eye in third place while second-placed Deeping dropping the points has thrown a big spanner in the works of their Yellow Zone title hopes.

Eye boss Salvatore Martignetti said: “I had a good feeling before the game and the boys really delivered the goods out there. After Bradley gave us the lead and we held on really well and I thought Dylan and Adam were both excellent.

“But the whole team battled really well and I thought we thoroughly deserved to take the points.”

SPALDING kept pace with the Red Zone leaders by beating Deeping Claret 1-0.

Luke Scampion scored the goal which leaves the young Tulips six points behind Arsenal Soccer School with two games in hand. But the 1-0 defeat means Deeping’s own title hopes are now hanging by a thread.

MATTHEW Stilwell scored the only goal of the game as White Zone champions Werrington continued their quest for the perfect season by beating Bourne Red 1-0.

The brilliant Blues have now won all 12 of their league games so far, scoring 69 goals and conceding just 14 on the way.

Werrington boss Keith Ferris said: “To be perfectly honest Bourne probably deserved a draw as they really pushed us hard in the second half. But we scraped through in the end so we were delighted.”

With Werrington already crowned kings of the league, it’s Thurlby Black who lead the race to win the best of the rest. Henry Warren was on fire for the village side as he bagged a hat-trick in a 5-0 win against Crowland.
