Peterborough Northern Star won the clash of the big guns in the Peterborough Junior Alliance League Under 13 9v9 Division.
The city side stretched their winning streak to eight games by defeating league leaders Deeping Rangers Claret 5-1 on their own patch at Outgang Road.
It was Claret’s first loss of the season and sees their advantage at the top cut to just three points . . . and second-placed Star have two games in hand.
Philip Creasey and Nathan Rudman both notched doubles for Star with William Palmer completed the tally.
Rudman has now bagged an amazing 48 goals in just 10 appearances.
Third-placed Netherton won 8-0 at Rippingale and Folkingham with Sulaiman Saleem helping himslef to a hat-trick.
There were big wins for the top three sides in Under 11 Division Two.
Leaders Hampton Navy beat Pinchbeck 9-0 with Adrian Kromka topping the scoresheet with a hat-trick and other strikes coming from Cian Burrows (2), Kieran Barker, Ethan Camfield, Alfie Richardson and Drew Budd.
Second-placed Hampton Blue also hit nine. They beat Wisbech St Mary 9-1 thanks to goals by Wayne Cort (3), Sam Lowings (2), Benjamin Atkinson, Mako Gomba , Casey-Terry Beebe and Simba Ojok.
Third-placed Gunthorpe put 10 past Malborne Rangers without reply and their scorers were Samuel Miller (3), Archie Makepeace-Beach (2), Adam Mathieson (2), William Barfield, Owen Goodacre and Oliver Woolley.
The top individual scoring efforts on Sunday at Under 11 level both came in Division Four with Alfie Courton scoring all four for Bourne in their 4-2 win over Spalding and Joshua Kirby netting four for March Soccer School Red in a 5-0 win over Tydd St Mary.
Spalding are the only Under 12 side still boasting a 100 per cent record.
They made it nine wins out of nine in Division Five with a 5-1 win over Holbeach Bank.
Ryan Thomas netted twice with Jacob Drew, Tommy Frogley and Elliot Goodley also on target.
March Rangers are seven points behind Spalding and maintained their push for the runners-up spot with a 7-4 win over Park Farm Black. Lewis Kent hit four of the March goals.
In the same division Joshua Lovelock took his tally of goals for the season to 20 by hitting all three goals for Phoenix in a 3-1 win over Parkside.
