The Peterborough Junior Alliance League programme was badly disrupted by the wet weather on Sunday but those games that did survive provided plenty of excitement.

And buzzing most were Under 14 Division One title-chasers Wasps.

They maintained their 100 per cent record by stinging Blackstones 9-1 to make it a perfect 10 wins from 10 games.

Hot-shot Conor Bell led the way on the scoresheet with four goals to take his tally for the season to 27 and completing the rout were Taylor Horne (2), Jazleigh Fife, Nasir Nabi and Jay Whyatt.

Wasps have now gone 11 points clear at the top with half their games played.

In Under 14 Division Three there was a 3-1 win for leaders Stamford at Pinchbeck courtesy of a Rory Guilie hat-trick while Liam Hall-Jordan got the all-important goal as second-placed Thorney pipped Riverside 1-0.

Biggest winners in this division were Oundle. They walloped Crowland 13-1 with Jason Cozzetto claiming four of the goals and Freddie Davies firing a treble.

Wittering also reached double figures against Tydd St Mary in Under 13 Division Four. They won 14-1 and Thomas Moss helped himself to six goals.

The most emphatic margin of victory in the league on Sunday came in Under 13 Division Two at Leverington. They were hammered 19-1 by Spalding, for whom Ryan Thomas netted five times and Daniel Plant and substitute Harvey Wirkowski grabbed hat-tricks.

Stanground Under 12s were another side to go goal-crazy. They beat Park Farm Red 14-1 in Division Four with goals coming from Ali Mavani (4), Billy Gockel (3), Keanu Scowen (3), Connor Whiteman (2), Danny Christmas and Michael Stevenson.

Spalding Orange top the Division Four table and they enjoyed a 7-2 win at Rippingale and Folkingham with Stephen Hammond on target three times.
