It was a super Sunday for Peterborough Junior Alliance League teams involved in Northants Under 14 Cup action.

Five of the six local sides progressed to the third round with Wasps and Glinton and Northborough Amber hitting double figures.

Junior Alliance Division One leaders Wasps stung Grange Park from Northampton 15-2 while Glinton beat Northampton ON Chenecks 12-0.

Connor Bell led the way on the scoresheet for Wasps with a magnificent seven-goal haul to take his tally for the season to 16 from eight appearances.

Gunthorpe Navy and Oundle were also emphatic winners.

Gunthorpe smashed Irchester 9-1 with Ryan Bishop and Christopher Seery helping themselves to hat-tricks while Oundle knocked out Wellingborough Grammarians 6-1 with Jason Cozzetto and Harvey Butler firing doubles.

Completing a good set of results for the Junior Alliance League, Netherton beat Heywood 3-1 through goals by Bradley Gilbert, Atif Khan and Daniel Clarke.

Alconbury and Hampton Blue, the top two in Under 13 Division One, both enjoyed convincing victories on Sunday.

Table-toppers Alconbury made it six wins out of six by thumping Wisbech St Mary 9-2 thanks to goals by Harrison Radwell (5), Connor O’Donovan (2) and Kian Pilkington (2).

Hampton Blue made it five wins from five with an 8-2 success at Deeping Claret and Luke Scampion hit a hat-trick.

Biggest Division One winners though were Werrington Blue. Luca Martignetti and Matthew Stilwell scored three each as they beat Hampton Royal11-0.
